Ashley Locher is a graduating senior who will be receiving Bachelors degrees in both Psychology and English. She has been on the Kiln staff for two years, and is currently acting as Editor-in-Chief. Following graduation, Ashley is headed out West (Los Angeles, to be exact) in order to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting.
Aspen Steiner is a junior marketing major with a concentration in visual communications. She appreciates all things yellow and enjoys caffeinated beverages and binge watching the Food Network.
Bailey Tripp is a junior communication and English double major with a minor in Women's and Gender Studies. As she approaches her senior year, her primary focus is on editing and publishing, but she is also interested in journalism and marketing. This is her second year with Kiln and she looks forward to another year with this wonderful magazine and staff.
Brenda Suhan is a junior studying Public Health and Spanish at SLU, but her first passion is writing (and coffee). Brenda’s poetry was published in Kiln’s “Catalyst” issue last year, and this year, several of her poems, as well as her first short story and winner of the Montesi Award, “Still Life,” are featured in this year’s “Oneiric” issue. She starred in and helped produce Kiln’s first stop motion film, “Oneiric.” Her poetry has also been published in Milwaukee Public Museum’s “Objects and Artifacts - The Poetry of the Museum’s Collections,” Creative Communication, the EPA’s “Sense of Wonder” competition, and The Voices Project.
Claire Nist is a junior English Major with an emphasis on Creative Writing and a Minor in Psychology. She's from Indiana and she wants to be a book editor when she graduates, preferably in children's and young adult literature.
Hannah McGinley is a freshman English and French double-major at SLU. She enjoys writing just about anything and has been so grateful to be a part of the Kiln and Via staffs.
Holly Kohn is a junior at Saint Louis University. She is double-majoring in English and Sociology and minoring in Professional and Creative Writing. This is her second year on staff for the Kiln Project. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, and cuddling with her two white collies (Snowy and Stormy).
Natalie Riopelle is a freshman English major. She's so happy to be a part of the Kiln/Via staff and she plans on continuing with it through college!
Valerie Guempel is a sophomore English and Women's and Gender Studies double major. She has been on The Kiln Project staff for two years, acting as web master. She is interested in editing and publishing, and in her free time loves to read and write.
Saher Alam is the faculty advisor to The Kiln Project and Via. She teaches fiction writing in the English Department at Saint Louis University.
