A Brighter Tomorrow
by Martin Shaw
Today I would like to address a topic many shy away from, the topic of homelessness. Homelessness, much like Russia is doing to the Ukraine, bullies the ones whose lives it infects leaving them battered worn and sometimes dead. As Americans we have watched devastation over the years oil fields burning in the Middle East during the Gulf Wars, our own twin towers being reduced to rubble by hijackers that our country taught to fly yet we pass devastation every day in our own back yard and never blink an eye. How many of us become aggravated when we see those out panhandling, or when we see someone holding a sign "will work for food" how many times do we stop to think how that person feels when we pass them by. There are many in our world today that are bound by the chains of oppression chains that are forged from political and socioeconomic injustices. Chains that we must help break so that we can bring the dream of liberty and justice for all that our nations forefathers had for our country to life. How do we do this by putting a stop to leaders like Russian President Putin whose only mission is a mission of greed, by raising the educational standards of our nation, by providing affordable adequate health insurance to every man, woman and child in our nation, by overlooking a person’s past and lending a helping hand to build a brighter future, by turning our eyes and our nation back over to God to control while we are workers in his field. Now who will join me in building a brighter future for our nation? Through bended knees we can move mountains.
